Job Description

Senior IT Field Engineer (Enterprise)

Reports to: Enterprise lead

We are looking for a Senior IT Field Engineer to join our Managed Service Team. 

Role

• Provide customer focussed technical support and maintenance to our business customers, working to agreed quality standards and service level agreements

• Provide remote and on-site installation and configuration of services for business customers

• Be part of an on-call rota for major incidents that require on-site support, responding to incidents within defined customer SLAs

• Creation of technical documentation for installations and supported services

• Provides technical pre-sales assistance to the sales team

• Help mature and develop business workflows for service delivery and handling of customer requests

• Gather and analyse customer requirements to provide valuable input towards product and service roadmap

Key Technical Skills/Requirements

• Strong understanding of networking hardware – routers, switches, firewalls and Wi-Fi access points

• Strong understanding of Microsoft Server and Windows desktop

• Solid understanding of Windows Active Directory environment and Azure/Office 365 services

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP

Key Non-Technical Skills/Requirements

• 4 years’ experience in a similar position or proven experience working with IT infrastructure listed above

• Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience, both verbally and in writing

• Ability to complete complex tasks methodically, with an eye for detail

• Enthusiastic and passionate about IT

• Excellent organisation, task prioritisation and time management skills

• Confidence going out to meet customers and working on client’s infrastructure

Desirable

• Familiarity with PBX/VoIP/SIP systems

• Familiarity with CCTV/IP camera systems

• Familiarity with Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper products and services

• Knowledge of VMWare or other virtualisation technologies

• Knowledge of IT focussed cloud services

• Microsoft, Cisco, Juniper, CompTIA or equivalent entry level IT certification
