calling

What is 4G calling?
4G Calling (also known as VoLTE) is now available, at no extra cost, allowing you to make high definition voice calls over our 4G network, rather than dropping to 3G or 2G to connect a call.
What are the benefits?
Superior Call Quality
Improved Coverage and Connectivity
Super-Fast Call Connection
Simultaneous Voice and Data Connections
Reduced Background Noise
Longer Battery Life
How does it work?
You don’t have to do anything special to use 4G Calling, you just need to enable a compatible handset and simply call as normal and the network will do the rest.
4G Calling uses Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) 4G technology. 4G is not only great for streaming, web browsing, and downloading, but it can now also be used for enhanced calls between compatible VOLTE-enabled handsets, with several noticeable improvements.
Enabling 4G Calling
If you have an iPhone 6 or later, working on iOS 11 or above, you can benefit from 4G Calling.
Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Voice & Data > Select 4G, VoLTE on from the list
If you are on a previous iOS version you will see the image below:

Later iOS versions will have a slider button which you will need to swipe to enable:

There is no additional cost for using 4G Calling. Calls and texts will be deducted from your monthly allowances as normal. Anything outside your monthly allowance will be charged at our standard rates.
No, 4G calling does not yet work when roaming. You will still be able to make calls over 3G and 2G as normal.
