FAQs eSIM

An eSIM is a digital SIM that allows you to activate a Gibtelecom mobile plan without having to use a physical nano-SIM. Like a traditional SIM card, the eSIM stores data that is needed for your device to connect to and use the Gibtelecom network

Devices that have Dual SIM with an eSIM have both a physical SIM card and an eSIM. This allows you the option to have two active phone numbers on the same device.

Yes, if you have both SIMs active it means that you have two mobile plans with a phone number on each plan.

Yes, you can receive calls and messages on both phone numbers you have. However, you would need to select from which number you want to make the outgoing call from. This will always default to the last number selected.

The same applies for data.

Yes, to convert your physical SIM to an eSIM call us on 52200 or visit us in store.

There's no extra charge for the initial eSIM setup. An eSIM simply functions as an alternative to a physical SIM card to access your Gibtelecom mobile plan.

You can have multiple eSIMs on your phone. If you have an iPhone 13 or above, you can have two eSIMs active at the same time. On iPhone 12’s and below, and any other Samsung device you can only have 1 eSIM active at any one time.

How do I transfer my eSIM number from one iPhone to another?

If you have both your old iPhone available and already set-up your new iPhone, you can try transferring your eSIM service by verifying the transfer on your old device. Look on your previous iPhone for a message asking if you want to transfer your eSIM phone number to your new phone.
